For organizing essentials we will need few different sizes of pouches/cubes. To start with you can use 6-7 pouches/ cubes. But of course you can add or remove them according to your needs. Ok! For reference I giving these pouches/ cubes some names:
  • Important pouch
  • Toiletry pouch
  • Makeup pouch
  • Keep me warm n clam pouch
  • Entertainment bag
  • Miscellaneous pouch

IMPORTANT POUCH

Travelling documents like passport, visa, ticket printout, emergency contact list, Driving license (if you need to ride any vehicle at destination), hotel reservation printout, etc will go in ‘Important pouch’. Keeping important things together will make your search for documents easy.
  • Everything from Travel Essentials section of carry-on checklist printable.

TOILETRY POUCH

Items like face wash, tissue paper, hand sanitizer, toothbrush (for overnight flights), etc will go in ‘Toiletry pouch’. Pack toiletries properly otherwise they can spill and mess your entire bag.
  • All toiletry items from Keep Me Fresh section of carry-on checklist printable.

MAKE-UP POUCH

Keep only essential makeup items, hair accessories, etc in ‘Makeup pouch’. No over stuffing sweetheart!
  • All makeup related items from Keep Me Fresh section of carry-on checklist printable.

KEEP ME WARM n CLAM POUCH

If you have a long flight, pack a warm jacket/sweater and a pair of socks. Keep these in ‘Keep me warm n clam pouch’. You can even wear your jacket, socks and scarf to keep carry-on bag light.

For long flights, carry your travelling pillow, blanket, ear plugs and sleeping eye mask also. Add these in ‘Keep me warm n clam pouch’.
  • Everything from Keep Me Warm and Keep Me Calm sections of carry-on checklist printable.

ENTERTAINMENT BAG

Carry only those entertainment stuff that are required by you and your family. Don’t unnecessarily over pack your ‘Entertainment bag’. It will just make your carry-on bag heavier. Reading books or writing your journal/planner is also a good way of entertainment.
  • Only necessary items from Entertainment section of carry-on checklist printable.

MISCELLANEOUS POUCH

Keep other miscellaneous things like your house keys, specs, any medicine (with prescription), etc in ‘Miscellaneous pouch’. You can even drop some healthy and light snacks in there.
  • Everything from Other Important section of carry-on checklist printable.
  • And anything else you may require.

MEDICINE POUCH

I have not mentioned it in the list above because there are limitations to carry medicines in your carry-on luggage. But that does not mean you will totally neglect it. Don’t do that, it is good to have your own medicine kit while travelling. Try to make the kit as compact as possible, so that it can fit into your handbags or bag packs.

Now time for some tips...

TIPS

  1. Do not keep all your cash/cards in one wallet. Divide your cash and cards according to your needs and keep them in 2 to 3 wallets. So even if you lose one of your wallet, you have another wallet safe for use.
  2. Tie bright ribbons/tags to your check-in bags to identify them quickly at baggage claim.
  3. Having extra pair of clothing is must for long/short flight. In case you loose your baggage!
  4. Always carry a bottle of water to keep you hydrated in the flight.
  5. Carry a extra plastic or grocery bag. It's always a life savior!

OK now that you know the secret of organized carry-on packing, go ahead and have a blast in flight ahead!!
